When I first came up with this idea, I thought it was going to be impossible to do. I figured no one would be interested or even take the time out of their day to listen to what I had to say. However, I was completely wrong. When I started having group meetings in December girls really came out in the cold to meet me to talk about hot topics within our communities and society. Yes, a lot of girls did not attend the meetings, but there was still supportive. Once the winter break ended, we started our group chats on Group me. Our first group chat was a success. I didn’t think so many ladies would answer my questions and express their own personal experiences and thoughts.
The real reason I am writing this blog post is to thank you for believing in my idea and taking part in this. You have shared your personal stories with me and even allowed me to post them on social media. Even on your busy a** day, you take the time out every single Monday at 5pm to take part in our discussions. Those sassy, controversial, and intelligent statements you make, really be sparking up the conversations :). After our chat, I thank you in my head so many times. I am so passionate about making young women of color change their views of their flaws. I really would not be able to do this with out you. The feeling of having people support your passions is something serious. Like you really mean so much to me. I don’t know how else to say thank you. It takes so much courage to share a story especially when it’s yours. Never change who you are because you are a very special person. You may not notice how much of an impact you have on a person’s life. Keep voicing your opinion and never let anyone shut down what you have to say.
P.S.–I will like say thank you to you (the reader) for actually taking the time to always read my blog! & thank you to you who shares and repost each blog. Your support means so much to me.
Thank you times infinite,
Tanaya ❤ .
